Please help us safeguard and protect the nature and scale of our small town, rural community and quality of life.
Tadley and Pamber Rural Protection (TPRP) is a dedicated group of local residents who live in the Tadley, Pamber and the surrounding area, who have joined together to form a community action group. This is in response to inappropriate proposed developments in the Countryside which are damaging to nature whilst studying, recording and communicating local Nature and particularly local Nature Recovery. This is entirely consistent with B&DBC and HCC Local Nature Recovery Strategies and supports HIWWT Team Wilder objective

We are a local resident group, passionate about preserving our beautiful environment and the quality of life of the 11,500 residents of Tadley and Pamber, representing the views of our supporters.
We are passionate about preserving our beautiful environment and the rural nature of Tadley and Pamber.
We are standing up to Bewley Homes' proposal to build 260(+?) homes at Skates Lane, including on the Roman Portway, that is located on the southern border of Tadley with Pamber Green, and is adjacent to 2 areas of SSSI, unspoilt woodland and copses, and adjacent to the ancient Pamber Forest - and will have just a single access point from the A340 - at the foot of a blind bend on Dix Hill / Honey Mill Bridge.
In our view, the proposal will massively impact 11,500 inhabitants in this ward and place an intolerable burden on already over-subscribed GP surgeries, dentists, health and social services, hospital services, secondary schools, access to local supermarkets, already overloaded sewage drainage system at Pamber Forest, and non-existent local amenities to support this added population.
We believe it is crucial for us to stand together and make our feelings known to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, who are responsible for the borough's housing planning strategy, as well as to every councillor in Tadley, Pamber, Basingstoke and Deane, its Housing and Planning Committees, and the Transport and Planning authorities at Hampshire County Council.
We must also tell our MPs that we are not apathetic to Town Planning demands - and that they must listen and heed local residents' opinions to preserve and protect our community, and ensure house building is driven by local demand and elected representatives, and new homes built in the
RIGHT LOCATIONS.
We expect B and DBC to commission the building of REAL Social Housing at Manydown - 3,520 homes (planned since 1990) to meet the needs of the Borough - and not to cause the destruction of rural communities through delay.
We are saying NO to the in-fill of land from Tadley to Basingstoke:
NO to damage inflicted on the ecology of the area and SSSI reserves by this proposal.
NO to the eradication of medieval Tadley and a significant area of historical and archaeological importance, including unspoilt virgin countryside, ancient woodland and copses, Pamber Forest and the Roman Portway.
We are standing up to the impact of building homes at Skates Lane that will impact the quality of life, increased load on our roads, road safety, AWE emergency route - on every resident in this ward.
Saying NO to the inevitable years of congestion on the A340 and every surrounding road during any construction (and impact on journey times) thereafter.
We ARE standing up for the rights of those in need of local housing – that this must be designated in the RIGHT LOCATIONS:
NOT isolated from the main settlement of Tadley.
NOT in an area of outstanding natural beauty that will be irrevocably changed by human inhabitation, that will change the rural nature of Tadley and Pamber for ever - as well as set a precedent for future in-fill development to the south of Tadley.
NOT on 64-acres (~32 full-size football pitches) of unspoilt green-belt and open countryside, nestled between designated sites of special scientific interest (SSSI) and the existing home to many wildlife species and eco-systems, that will perish, forever - and/or be forced to migrate awayfrom the resultant waste, traffic, light pollution and domesticated animals of human inhabitation.
